BADN Celebrates 75th Anniversary in 2015

The BADN (British Association of Dental Nurses) celebrated its 75th birthday on the 24th of October 2015 with an Anniversary Afternoon Tea at the Hilton Metropole Birmingham.

Dental nurses from across the country joined BADN President Jane Dalgarno, together with Past Presidents and former Deputy Chief Dental Officer Sue Gregory for tea, finger sandwiches and cakes – and a glass of fizz – to celebrate 75 years of supporting dental nurses.

The event even had royal approval – in a letter from Buckingham Palace Her Majesty sent “ her best wishes to all concerned for a most memorable and enjoyable afternoon”.

Every member of the BADN are presented with an enamel lapel pin badge that is proudly worn to show they are a member of the Association.

Although we have been making these bad75th Photo Broochges for many years we were honoured when BADN Chief Executive Pam Swain commissioned House of Logos to design and manufacture a brooch to celebrate the anniversary, each piece was cast hand finished before being silver plated polished and put into a letherette box.  The President of the BADN presented the brooch to all the Past Presidents of the association.

BADN support Dental Nurses, negotiate on their behalf and represent the interests of Dental Nurses at all levels. Their council is made up of dental nurses elected by the members, so they know what challenges dental nurses are facing, what dental nurses are interested in, what dental nurses want!

It is not hard to see why the BADN have been going strong for 75 years. I wonder what design we can come up with for the 100 year anniversary!

Chief Executive Pam Swain commented on how well the Brooch was received by all Past Presidents and that the BADN may commission a few more in the near future.
