Yorkshire Badges was launched in 2011.

At the Yorkshire Badges workshop in Sheffield, we’ve been making beautiful Yorkshire gifts since 1975 and take pride in spreading the Yorkshire Rose. Yorkshire Day is naturally the most popular occasion to celebrate ones homeland and it’s no surprise we’ve been known to post the Yorkshire Rose as far a New Zealand, Canada and the Far East! We make all our enamel, gold & silver gifts in the traditional way, meaning each lapel pin, cufflink, bookmark and earring is unique to you. Easily the most sought after token of Yorkshire is without a doubt the traditional Yorkshire Rose Cufflinks. These are most commonly presented as gifts on Yorkshire weddings or as wedding favours to the best man and ushers.

The most iconic emblem of Yorkshire (apart from us and Henderson’s Relish of course), is the white Yorkshire Rose which takes pride of place on the flag. This is different from the Lancaster Rose, which is red from the notorious ‘war of the roses’. However we did find some debate over ‘which way up’ the Yorkshire Rose should go and sought the most definitive answer we could find from the Yorkshire Society.

We feel our original Yorkshire lapel pin captures the essence of Yorkshire. We’re proud to be manufacturing in Sheffield and a 3rd generation family business passing on skills like enamelling, and metal work down the family. There’s this new ‘internet’ thing that didn’t exist when we started in the 70’s, but we’re doing our best to keep the love of Yorkshire alive on our Yorkshire Badges Facebook and Twitter pages!

In an ever changing world, the long service award has undergone quite a change. The traditional milestones of 15, 20, 25 and 30 years tend to have been replaced with 5, 10 and 15 years. To put it simply, this is down to people tending to move jobs more frequently.

Forward thinking employers tend to hold annual anniversary events for all staff that have completed a specific milestone.

The best employers are good at communicating the award and make the most of public presentations. This means the award will have a positive impact on the recipient’s peers and co-workers.

Prestigious car care company Dodo Juice are very conscious about customer care and after sales service. Here we take a look through the Dodo Juice products we have made to date.

Together we created a Dodo Juice keyring and bottle opener depicting the company logo. These were resold to customers and also used for giveaways in competitions they run on Facebook and in their forum. Alongside their existing high quality after sales service, this created customer loyalty and got the brand talked about.

They have since launched a limited edition wax. This is exclusive to their forum members and is dedicated to their furry mascot Mr Skittles! It even has him immersed in the wax itself in badge form!

Another notable project we undertook with Dodo Juice was making a bespoke plaque to use as an instruction manual for their Supernatural wax. These Dodo Juice products were made out stainless steel with the text laser engraved and ‘Supernatural’ logo filled with enamel. It was then attached to the underside of the sustainable hardwood lip, adding the perfect finishing touch.

Golf days are a great way to build strong relationships with your clients and staff outside of a working environment and also thank them for their custom/services.

This can be seen when a worldwide telecom company held a 3 day Tournament in Jersey, USA. They were looking for a gift that they could present to all golfers taking part in the competition.

The company wanted something that was unique and had a high value they could give to participants during the golf days they organised. They decided on a sterling hallmarked golf ball marker and pitch repairer. We suggested that they went that extra mile and had each players initials hand engraved on to the ball markers.

They were delighted by the feedback form the players and it created a talking point for many years to come.
