When talking about enamel badges, there are two main types of enamel used. Soft enamel and hard enamel. The traditional method is to use soft enamel. This means the enamel sits below the surface and leaves the metal parts raised up slightly. Hard enamel on the other hand leaves a smooth, glossy and even finish to the surface. It also increases the durability, as it is very hard wearing.
